There are times when you may want reports produced that Do not conform to standard calendar periods. That is the purpose of the Custom Calendar dialog. Here you can define a customized calendar. This calendar is only used to produce reports within VT where you have an option to use custom calendar reporting. The calendar is not used for order entry, scheduling, or any other purpose.
You can only define one Custom Calendar reporting method, but you can change the calendar at any time.
Custom Calendar reporting can be used to produce reports that cover a fiscal year period instead of a calendar year. For example, you could make your Custom Year begin on September 1st and end on August 31st of the following year.
Another use for Custom Calendar reporting is to produce 4/5/4 reporting periods. This produces four exactly equal (in weeks) quarterly periods per year. That report cannot be produced using standard calendar month reporting.
